The many faces of Asher
This kid is just too cute for words. Please excuse the lack of text but I'm going to go kiss this sweet face and snuggle with my other babies. Enjoy.

A boy and his bubby
I really thought I wanted all girls. But watching these two play together, melts my heart. I have a feeling they will be best friends for the rest of their lives.
Asher thinks that Elijah is the best thing since sliced bread, no seriously. He can walk in a room and Asher's attention is immediately drawn to him. They love to play and giggle together and Elijah is so protective of him. He follows him around to make sure he doesn't get hurt (when Elijah's not the one terrorizing him, don't get me wrong every moment isn't peaceful haha). He kisses him and holds his hand and talks to him ALL. THE. TIME.
Having boys has been so much fun :) (I do love my girl too though, she's such a joy.)

Asher's First Birthday Party
*please excuse the fact that my pictures are in BACKWARDS order because that's just how photobucket uploaded them and I'm too lazy to paste them in one by one to make them right*
Asher's party was great. We had a great turn out, thanks everyone who got to come and celebrate his first year of life with us!!!
He didn't enjoy the cake but loved the presents, what a funny boy. He enjoyed playing with everyone most of all though. We are so blessed to have so many sweet friends to join us for fun occassions like this.

Crunchy Taco Chicken
Earlier THIS week I made this recipe. The original SOURCE can be found HERE.
My husband Derek actually sent me the link to this, and said he wanted to try it. That doesn't happen often, so I jumped on the chance to make something he wanted to try that was out of our normal recipes we use on a regular basis.
Crunchy Taco Chicken
Ingredients:
6 boneless chicken breasts
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1 1/2 cups corn chips, crushed
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese, divided
I doubled the recipe for the coating, which I found was a good thing when it came to the sauce you coat it in, but NOT a good thing when it came to the fritos on top. I think if I do it again, I'll still double the sauce but just not use as many fritos on top, they kind of overpowered the dish after adding so many.
First I pulled up pinterest:
Then I assembled all of my ingredients. I also chose to make Rice a Roni with this dish and refried beans (not pictured here)
First, in a medium bowl I poured in my cream of chicken
and then the shredded cheese (original recipe calls for one cup of the cheese here, I used two since I doubled the recipe)
The taco seasoning (again 2 packages)
Stir it all together until it is mixed well.
Put your thawed chicken breasts in a baking dish and cover them with your sauce mixture.
In a 350 degree oven, bake for 45 minutes.
Take a short break to feed this cute kid some bananas because he's grumpy and ready for dinner (baby food to the rescue!)
Then I began the prep for my rice a roni, I liked this mix, but Derek did not.
Then I combined the corn chips and the remaining cheese in a bowl (actually the same one I used before, I washed it in between)
After the 45 min is up, cover the chicken and sauce with this mixture and return to the oven just long enough for the cheese to melt.
And serve it up for your family.
We really enjoyed this, but again I think the corn chips were overpowering, but that's MY mistake, not the recipes. It reheats well, but I definately enjoyed it more the first night because it was still super moist.
Definately a crowd pleaser at my house and it was pretty easy!

Happy FIRST birthday Asher!
Man, this day seems like it shouldn't be here yet!
*this post contains never before seen pictures, enjoy!*
Just minutes old. Man I can't believe how amazing that was.
Asher, on your first birthday, I want you to know you are LOVED.
This past year has been a whirlwind, but has been absolutely amazing having you in it with us.
You are 20.1 lbs now.
Meeting Kyley for the first time. She held you even before Daddy really got to because she insisted she was first haha
You wear 12-18 month clothes, a size 3 diaper, and some size 4, Moving up when we finish this last pack of 3's
Meeting Elijah for the first time.
You love to dance, and music makes you happy.
You are walking everywhere now. You can stand up on your own in the middle of the room. You crawl a lot still but are choosing to walk more and more as days go by. I'd say as of today you walk about 50 % of the places you want to go, sometimes more.
You love to 'blow kisses' which actually means you click your tongue and then you say awww. SO CUTE!
Mama and Dada are still your favorite words.
Just this week you got a 3rd tooth! Your top right tooth came in on Tuesday.
Also new this week: sleeping through the night! yay!
You still love to play with the box of blocks. You usually get two of them and carry them around banging them together. This makes you giggle.
Of course Kyley and Elijah still make you giggle more than anything else.
Another new thing this week, you are learning to get OFF of things by yourself by scooting off backwards!
Asher, you have such a fun, cute personality. You love people, and you will grin huge for almost anyone who pays you attention. And you certainly know how to melt your mommy's heart with that smile. You also love to snuggle.
You LOVE to eat. Food has to be one of your favorites right now. Boy do I have my hands full when you and your brother are teenagers. Thankfully you aren't very picky. You'll eat pretty much anything I offer you.
Asher, we are so blessed to have you as our son. I love you more than words can say. Happy 1st Birthday little man.
And with that... I leave you all with this:
