7 days in Colossians : Day 1

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood,[c] the forgiveness of sins.

I love how straight forward this passage is.   Paul speaks to the people and gives them a few things he wishes for them to achieve. I believe we can say that these are things WE should strive for as well.

1.  That we be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

2. That   we walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him

3.  That we are fruitful in every good work

4. That we increase in our knowledge of God.

5. That we are strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power for all patience and longsuffering with joy.

6.   That we give thanks to the Father for qualifying us to be partakers in the inheritance of the saints in the light.

The best way to see these things in your life, is to study them, and live them out.
GET IN THE WORD. PRAY. SEEK HIM.

I can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings in His word!

  1. AMEN Melanie. Your notes make for a wonderful checklist of things we should aim for this week. I will be referring back to them often. Thanks so much for sharing your Bible reading time with us.
