FREEDOM

Have you ever thought about what it means to be free?

More importantly, have you ever thought about what you should DO with that freedom?

Galatians 5:1 (amplified)
In this freedom Christ has made us free and completely liberated us; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery which you have once put off.

First, we are COMPLETELY LIBERATED! It is beyond my comprehension as to what this REALLY truly means. But we are FREE from any and every bondage we've ever carried through the blood of Christ.

But this verse goes on to say, that because of this freedom we should stand fast and do not be hampered or held ensnared by sin. If we are completely liberated, we should guard our hearts and minds and bodies and flee from any bondage that could take us captive.

But Paul goes on to say later in this chapter that not only should we stand fast and guard ourselves, but we should also put aside our own selfishness and through love we should SERVE one another.

Galatians 5:13 (amplified)
For you, brethren, were indeed called to freedom; only do not let your freedom be an incentive to your flesh and an opportunity or excuse for selfishness, but through love you should serve one another.

There are so many scriptures that back this up.

Jesus said to love your neighbor as yourself.

So have you been set free from your past, from your sin, from bondage?

What are you doing with that freedom?

Are you loving others?

Are you giving of your time and talents to others who need you?

Are you ministering to the body of Christ?

Are you reaching out to those in need?

Are you going where other Christians dare not go?

I challenge you today- reach out in love and SERVE!
