Snow!!!

So today, March 1st... it snowed ... ok so that sounds likes no big deal, but here in Montgomery, that's a BIG deal!!! Here are a few pics of our "snow day" Hope you enjoy!

Wow, this week has been BUSSSSSSSSSSSSY!!!!

What better day to get all the stuff off your chest that you DID NOT do this week!!!

so without further ado...

I did NOT let my 4 yr old try on her dance outfit for her recital in MAY and proceed to take, oh a bazillion pictures cause she loves to pose...


and I did NOT get all excited on Wednesday night to see Angie because I knew that the very next morning she'd be having a baby!
and because of this I did NOT rub her cute little baby belly anytime I could because I wouldn't get to after this night :)

Wednesday night we did NOT stay out incredibly late at Will and Angie's because there was NOT a second tornado warning for the evening as we were driving up to their house to drop Angie off... nah we go to bed ON TIME!

Wednesday night I did NOT stay up til 2 am doing laundry so my husband could have clean khaki pants and then get up at 5 am to get everyone ready for the day on Thursday!

Thursday morning I did NOT send my 4 yr old to work with daddy so that Elijah and I could spend the morning at the hospital with Will and Angie awaiting the much anticipated arrival of Molly!

I did NOT go get her at lunch and then proceed to go BACK to the hospital so Kyley could meet her :)


I also would NEVER put my sleeping baby in the little bassinet that Molly is supposed to sleep in so that I could love on her a few minutes.


and I did NOT get all giddy when Angie said I could dress her up and take pictures of her!!! and these are NOT a few of those pictures :) She was about 8 hours old!



Friday after Celebrate Recovery, I did NOT with the help of my bestest best friend take some of the girls to see Angie and Molly at the hospital :)
While we were there, I did not simply LOVE that Elijah gave her a kiss (she was yawning, not crying)


and I did NOT just adore this photo...


and I did NOT also ask Angie to take a pic with us since she'd JUST had a baby... who really wants to be on camera after that? I wouldn't be that rude would I? nah not me!

On the way home from the hospital I did NOT stop at Sonic for a slush and cheesesticks while chatting with Brittani....

and while we were NOT there, the car did NOT stop working and wouldn't crank.

I did NOT proceed to call Abigail and ask her to come pick up me, Brittani, and both of my kids (with carseats) and drive us home in her tiny little car. nahhhhh not me!

and I did NOT call the tow truck and have them tow my truck home at almost midnight that night!

I did NOT have my brother fix the problem and give the truck a tune up and oil change the next day and then RUSH him to finish when we were late for a birthday party!!!

at said party the kids did NOT have so much fun because it was NOT at gymboree!



I did NOT take mostly pictures of Elijah because he was sitting still and all the pictures of Kyley I got were NOT blurry because she was moving so incredibly fast because she was having so much fun.




and I did NOT just fall in LOVE with this photo...

Molly Eulogia Elizabeth Rus was born yesterday (Feb 19,2009) at 8:15 am

She weighed in at 6 lb 10 oz and is 18 3/4 inches long :)

she's adorable and looks just like a mini version of her big brother when he was born :) yay!!!!!

We love you Molly!

I love Monday's... how many times can I say that?

I so did NOT get all excited about Valentine's day that I was wanting to give everyone their gifts way back early in the week, but I refrained

I most certainly did NOT enjoy every minute of getting to buy lunch for my MIL and BIL and my bestest friend on Sunday. That rarely happens and I love being able to bless them!

I also did NOT teach a lesson Friday night with only an illustration to go from. God works like that sometimes :)

I also did NOT love the sermon sunday morning because God gave me another lesson from it LOL Don't worry I will NOT be blogging about it later!!!!

I did NOT almost have a meltdown last night after seeing Mckmama's valentine wedding photos because I do NOT have to shoot a wedding in 4 months and I'm NOT already stressing out about not being good enough. *sigh*

However I am NOT also so excited about this wedding because we do NOT already have rooms booked that are NOT at a resort that is also NOT on the beach!!!!!!!!! yay!!!

And because this said wedding that I am NOT shooting is just a hop skip and a jump away from some of our awesome friends, Carl and Jennifer, we will NOT be going to visit them that weekend as well!!!!!!!!! yay!!!!!!!

I did NOT plan to make a draft of this post earlier in the week so I wouldn't forget not me's and I did NOT forget to write said draft and I did NOT forget half of the things I thought were hilarious to write on here... oh well... not me!!!

And lastly.... I did NOT find out last night that Laura and Adam are most likely coming in JULY and I did NOT get all excited and already start making plans, that would be crazy of me!!!!

Holy Cow is it Monday already?

I love this day of the week, I love a free therapy session! Time to spill all the things I did NOT do ! yay!!!!

I most certainly did NOT sleep most of the week and let my sweet sweet husband take care of the kids while he was home because I have the most awful case of pink eye and a sinus infection... NOT ME!

I did NOT care less that the house was trashed and the kids ate whatever they wanted really because I just wanted to sleep... yeah, not me!

I did NOT laugh everytime someone at church wednesday asked me if Derek had beat me haha yeah so not me!

I did NOT seriously enjoy CRY this friday, we had a lot of kids and it was great!

I did NOT just think about coming home Sunday night and pitch a fit about how nasty the house is... even though it's my fault because I slept all week mostly.... yeah I wouldn't do that.

I am so NOT posting this a few hours early just so I can go to bed in a few with my darling son who is NOT finally sleeping alone for the first time all week and I just wanna go snuggle with him withOUT being used as a human pacifier

One thing after another...

If I don't update regularly this week, just know I'm out of commission. I have a sinus infection, a throat infection AND pink eye and I"m on a lot of meds. Trying to rest as much as possible!

It's Monday again!

So here are the things I did NOT do!!!

I have NOT played Halo 3 with my husband just to get him to leave me alone about it, and I did NOT get frustrated within just a few minutes of doing so. I also did NOT continue playing just because I knew it would mean a lot to him even though I did not enjoy it.

I did NOT pack a dr appt, walmart, gymnastics, the park, picking up my brother from school, dropping my brother off at home, ballet, and cleaning all into one day before my husband got home from work. Crazy!

I did NOT get so excited to see Jennifer online for the first time since they got to FL that I did NOT get all giddy and IM her right away! I did NOT miss chatting with her so badly the whole day she was without internet LOL how pathetic would that be?

I did NOT tell one of my good friends tonight, who came to town this week to visit her family (and ME :) ) that, I'd be glad when she went home because then we could chat on facebook. Nah not me...
Of course if I did say something like this Michelle would totally get it though and laugh with me :)

I also did NOT cook the most amazing pork tenderloin this week, and I do NOT want to hurry to the store to buy some more so I can make more and more and more

I so did NOT get all frustrated over losing a papi while I was nursing Elijah and wanting to put him down for a nap, wake him up to go get a papi from the other room, only to later find that I did NOT have a brand new box with two papi's in it sitting on my desk, that's NOT been there for a long time now and I did NOT forget it was there!

I did NOT eat spaghetti sauce for dinner one night this week because I did NOT make grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup for the rest of the family and I did NOT just not feel in the mood for that.

I did NOT freak out over stupid facebook photo uploader not working this week... no that'd be silly of me to get upset about such a small thing!

I have NOT stalked Mckmama's blog all week just to see her amazing pictures from her cruise... NOT ME!!!!

I also seriously did NOT walk into CR Friday night expecting to see Carl and Jen... what was I NOT thinking???

I did NOT take my 4 yr old ice skating with our childrens church, only to not let her ice skate... what a horrible mom would that be?

I also did NOT skip out on TWO superbowl parties Sunday because, I just don't care about it ... yeah NOT ME!

Kids say the silliest things!

Today at Toys R Us I took Kyley to the restroom... and this is how our conversation went.

Kyley: Mommy, can you see me through the line?
Me: What are you talking about?
Kyley: can you see me through the line, you know the cricket?
Me: WHAT????
Kyley: (getting excited) Can you see me through the cricket!? You know, the line thingy that's a cricket?
Me: Kyley I'm lost dear, what are you talking about?
Kyley: I want to know if you can see me through the cricket, you know the line... Mommy crickets are green
Me: Yes, Kyley, crickets are green. But what do you mean can I see you through it?
Kyley: MOMMMMMY, you know the cricket by the door, the line thing.... you can see through it!
Me: OH! You mean the CRACK?????
Kyley: YES MOMMY CAN YOU SEE ME THROUGH THE CRACK, ITS GREEN!
(the stalls were green)

OY VEY!

Set free and set apart!

This month and into next month we've been talking about being set free with our kids at Celebrate Recovery...
It's so great to know that we are free from all bondage and set apart as God's children.
Too often we feel bogged down and let Satan hold us down with his chains, but it's time we broke through and let Christ set us apart completely and realize that we are bigger than anything Satan can throw at us through CHRIST and Christ alone.
It's so wonderful to know I'm a daughter of the King :)

Listening with intent

So Derek and I have been reading Habakkuk this week, and I found this interesting.

In Habakkuk 2:1, Habakkuk says
I will stand my watch
And set myself on the rampart,
And watch to see what He will say to me,
And what I will answer when I am corrected."

As I was reading, this verse stood out to me the most.
Habakkuk says that he stood watch to see what the Lord was going to say to him. He KNEW the Lord was going to speak to him and he set out to listen for it. And not only did he know that the Lord would speak to him but it says he prepared himself for his response when the Lord corrected him.

Habakkuk KNEW without a doubt the Lord was going to speak and he was going to hear from him. How much more should we expect the Lord to speak to us and correct us?
Often I find myself wondering why I don't hear from God on certain things, and I believe it's because I don't "stand my watch" and wait on what He is going to say to me, or his correction. If I don't expect him to speak, then I'm ok when I don't hear His voice, but if I ready myself and stand earnestly seeking His word for me, then I'll be ready to hear His voice when He does call out to me!

Prepare yourself to hear something from the Lord, and stand firm waiting on His word and His correction.

Not Me Monday!!!

I so did not forget that Tuesday was ballet class and imagined myself sitting home all day getting house work done, not having to go anywhere... only to NOT realize later in the afternoon, darn it I DO have to go somewhere, we have ballet!

I also so far this week have NOT allowed my family to eat out everynight this week just because I didn't feel like cooking.

NOR did I come home wed night and deny that I had the stomach bug because "my blood sugar was just all wonky" until I threw up everything I ate that day *sigh*


I so did not have the following quotes from CRY friday night as my facebook status at some point...

"Savannah, take my bladder and go pee!" and "FOAM!!!!! FOAM!!!!!!!"

I also have NOT had the most awesome conversations this week, which also did not spur some of the FUNNIEST inside jokes of all time... Thanks to all of my awesome friends who did NOT make this possible!

Speaking of said conversations that did NOT happen, one of them did not include me mistaking the word delirious for delicious... man was that not embarrassing LOL

I did NOT have to say goodbye to some incredible friends because they're moving a whole state south from here :( *sigh*

I did NOT whine to my husband because of said friends leaving for an hour while laying in bed one night this week LOL how pathetic would that be?

I did NOT go to a babyshower for one of my bestest friends this weekend and hear another bestest friend exclaim "It's a butt ruffle" when someone asked what bloomers were called! yeah that was not hilarious!

so what did YOU not do this week? I love this day! Mondays are awesome !

Friends are for life.

I've come to a realization lately, and that is that I have the most amazing friends. Some live here, some don't, and some do but won't for long.

I cherish every one of them and I'm thankful that God has blessed me with such amazing people to laugh, cry, and just chat with.

So to all of you who make me a better person by loving me the way Christ loves you, thank you. And I pray that I can do the same for you :)

Wordless Wednesday- a few minutes early

a new me... and a few NOT me's!

Well, it's MONDAY!!! Which means it's time for Mckmama's weekly blog carnival NOT ME MONDAY "where we can be brutally honest with each other, and live to tell about it, while we shroud the severity of our statements by pretending we so did not really do them!" (her words, not mine)

For instance, I so did NOT just paste that description from her NOT ME post because it was infinitely more awesome than anything I could've written to describe it!

I very much did NOT have gallbladder surgery last week, and so since I did NOT have that said surgery I did NOT ask my husband to take me to church the very night I did NOT get out of the hospital, because I was NOT craving just some type of normalcy in my life again. I mean because I'd NOT just been laying in the same bed for a week and NOT walking around one measly little hall for that said week. NOT ME!!!

I most certainly have NOT watched tv several times this week and also have not instantly craved anything that is food related because well I can now NOT eat again and I am NOT just dying to have all the things I haven't had in a while.

Sadly I most certainly do NOT crave those things even while I'm not really hungry...

I did NOT take lots of sleeping pictures of my husband and kids this week while at the hospital haha







Nor did I take pictures of my silly husband who did NOT try to wrap my 9 month old without having a clue :)

I did NOT go shopping yesterday for 2 hours at Kohl's to find absolutely nothing. I mean since I do NOT have a gift card to there that I need to use and I do NOT need new clothes since I've NOT lost any weight.

I also did not wear Elijah for the first part of the trip so that he'd nap and he did NOT stay awake the whole time...
and I did NOT get tired of wearing him since I still do NOT have incisions from the surgery I did NOT have and I did NOT put him in the stroller/buggey thing at Kohl's...

and I did NOT look down a few minutes later to find this...





I also did NOT stop in the middle of the store to take pictures because he was NOT the cutest thing ever :)

OH, you know what else I didn't do... I didn't bombard the poor checkout lady last night at 9 pm with 8... yes I said 8 wic vouchers that expired today because since I was NOT in the hospital for the week I did NOT have that many left over to use!

We did NOT stand in line for her to ring up said vouchers for longer than it took us to get the stuff to begin with through the whole store.

I did not ignore my husband this morning when he said my 4 yr old would be mad if I sent her leftover taco to work with him for lunch because I didn't have anything else to send with him
and said 4 yr old did NOT wake up and want said taco
she also did NOT scream and yell at me like any 4 yr old would when she did NOT discover that her taco was missing *sigh*
(sorry Derek I should've listened)

I just dislike shopping...

Kyley woke up sick today- so while she and my wonderful hubby hung out resting at the in laws house, Elijah and I went shopping. I hate shopping.... I have some money on a giftcard to kohls... but I cannot for the life of me find anything I like and it drives me nuts! I spent 2 hours in the store and all I got was Elijah to fall asleep and nap LOL

*sigh* oh well, at least he napped right?

Cleaning and Resting

Somehow I think I've confused the two words...

I'm supposed to be RESTING, you know having had surgery 3 days ago... but here I sit, taking a break from CLEANING.

What is wrong with me? I have my husband home to help me with everything and I still don't sit still and do nothing like I should be doing.

Can cleaning be resting???? I don't know... maybe it makes sense in my mind.
A clean house means my mind is at ease, a messy house makes me scatter brained, so maybe cleaning really is resting?

Pedi appts!

So today we had double pedi appts! What was I thinking??????? Thankfully since today is my first full day home from the hospital, Derek was home with me and got to go with us. I don't know what I'd have done if it wasn't for that because man was it a LONG day!

Both kids had their fingers pricked and neither of them cried! I was so proud! And Kyley thought she was such a big girl because she got to pee in a cup for the first time today LOL (if she only knew what a pain it really was)
Then they weighed them and did all the checkup stuff. They both look great and the pedi was impressed with how smart they both are!

Their stats are as follows

Elijah:

18 lbs 15 oz!!!!
28 inches
18 1/4 head circumference


Kyley:

38 lbs
39 1/2 inches


Anyhow, Elijah's iron is alittle low but we're going to check it again in amonth and see how he's doing, and Kyley has a small bit of eczema (not a surpise huh?) but overall everyone looks great!!!!


As for me, I'm feeling alright today, I actually got to eat a few meals- so that's good stuff smile.gif And I'm not near as sore as I was yesterday!!! So yay I hope this is all over with soon!

An update on my life and a few not me's.....

Boy has life been crazy... sooooo as an update... I'm going to participate in Not Me Monday!!!

Not me was started by the crazy awesome mama over at www.mycharmingkids.net , Mckmama writes about all the things she "didn't" do and it's a blast... join in on the fun!!!

sooooo this week...

I most certainly did not throw up everything I ate before Wed. nah....

Nor did I end up curled up on the bathroom floor in excruitating pain at my mom's on Wed. night

and because I didn't do the above, I most certainly did NOT end up in the ER waiting room, and I also did NOT wait for 3 hours in a wheelchair, NOR did I pass out in said wheelchair, because none of that actually happened right?

After countless hours of waiting I did NOT finally get a shot of morphine and instantly feel better

and because of all of these things I did NOT find out I had a nice sized gallstone blocking my bile duct

and because I do not have any gallstones I have not spent the past 5 days in the hospital, nor was I begging for food the first 3 days because they wouldn't let me have any.

I also did not have pancreatitis and elevated bilirubin levels due to those gallstones I DON'T have...

and I'm also NOT having surgery tomorrow to remove my gallbladder...

I did NOT let my son crawl around on a freshly mopped hospital room floor because there are a bazillion germs in a hospital...

I also did NOT sneak a chicken finger off my daughter's lunch plate a few days ago when I was NOT supposed to be on a clear liquid diet but since I wasn't on a clear liquid diet I was most definately NOT starving and craving food like crazy.

I also did NOT let my daughter go to work with my husband today, and I did NOT keep the baby at the hospital with me all by myself... NOT ME. (he was Good by the way!)

I also did NOT allow my husband to wear my bright pink pj pants last night because he most certainly did NOT forget to bring some for himself

hmmm I think that may NOT be all the NOT ME's for the week... but who knows :) Hope you enjoy!!!

Not me Monday....

soooooo without further ado....


This week I most certainly did NOT let my 4 yr old stay up til way past midnight every night just because I was up and knew she'd sleep in the next morning if I let her stay up... nope NOT ME!

I also did NOT make dinner at 9 oclock tonight because I just didn't get around to it til then... again... NOT ME!

I did NOT spend the entire evening on New years day in the bathroom while I had a bunch of friends over because I wasn't feeling well :(

I also did NOT step on a glass and slice my toe open because I was putting Elijah down in MY bed and there was NOT a glass on the floor by the bed post... nah not at all

Also, since I did NOT cut my toe open with a broken glass, I did NOT forego going to the ER to get stitches because the gash was on the bottom of my foot and I did NOT decide that if it scarred it wouldn't matter. I also did NOT make this decision because it was midnight and I was too lazy to get dressed amidst the blood. Not ME!

As if that wasn't enough, I did NOT go to the mall and walk around for at least 2 hours on my toe that is NOT sliced open. yeah... not me!

Rock Stars!

Yesterday I finally took Kyley to get her makeover she's been promised for her birthday- a week late but hey at least she got it!

Lily got to have a makeover with her and both girls had a blast!!! Here is a small taste of what went on LOL




The girls were so thrilled and loved feeling like rock stars. Maybe we'll get to do it again before the store closes in January!

Wow! Today is Kyley's last day as a 3 yr old! I can't believe my baby girl with be 4 yrs old tomorrow! What a beautiful young lady she's becoming and I can't believe that this time 4 yrs ago I was in the hospital getting ready to have a munchkin! and now I have TWO! wow! God is amazing and I can't thank Him enough for this journey He's taken me on!

Milestones and celebrations!

Well things are NUTS this time of year around here- but I"m going to try to remember to catch up as often as possible- so here's one big catch up post for now LOL

This past week we had Kyley's 4th birthday party! The theme was Hannah Montana and she had a BLAST ! Doe Doe and Daisy came to visit her at her party and all the kids loved them! She got so much stuff I can't even remember it all! Her real birthday is this coming Friday- so we plan to give her one gift from me and daddy and Elijah that day- but other than that we're done with birthday stuff !

This past weekend we also participated in the Millbrook Christmas parade! We all had a blast and hopefully I can post some pics up here soon!

And on to Elijah- last week Elijah turned 8 months old! He's such a big boy now! He says bye bye and waves, and he can clap his hands and he's trying sooooooo hard to crawl! He LOVES the christmas tree and all the lights- it is by far the best thing ever haha I can't wait until Christmas!

gearing up for plenty of celebrating!

This month will prove to be BUSY! here's the run down-
tomorrow we're having Kyleys birthday party!
Friday we have celebrate recovery, saturday a christmas parade and making white trash with miss debi- then next week we have a dance field trip Kyley's actual birthday and next sunday is the childrens church christmas play!
after that a dance recital, paw paws birthday, uncle ryans birthday and christmas. wow I'm tired just thinking about it!

How beautiful kids are- and how silly!

We just got home from picking up Matt from school- both kids were fully dressed, and I left them in the living room together to work on cooking something for the thanksgiving dinner tonight. Next thing I know I came to check my email and I hear Kyley blowing raspberries on Elijah's stomach and he's all happy... it didn't dawn on me that he just a few minutes earlier had on a sleeper and she wouldn't have been able to do this LOL.... Next thing I know, I hear Kyley exclaim... "MOM I opened his diaper and HE POOPED!" um...... *runs to see what she's done* She undid the dipe and then was running from him going DONT PEE ON ME!!!!! lol So I had to quickly change the diaper and get him clean... *sigh* what a silly girl she is...

Learning and growing... and praying God's word!

Today has been an awesome day, and I'm amazed at the awesome things that God is doing in our lives! I've been longing for some structure to my prayer life to keep me accountable and to help me grow closer to God and to seek His will more. A friend just yesterday asked me if I wanted to start a 7x7 prayer with her. What it is, is 7 prayers a day for 7 days a week over our children.... the link to the blog is here

I sat down last night and made up reminders with the prayers on them and posted them in familiar places to what they were pertaining to. The idea is, that at 7 given points in my children's day, I will pray for them. But I decided to take that a step farther- I decided that I will not only pray these over my children but over my husband and myself as well! I'm completely convinced that God delights when we pray His word and promises over His children and I intend to do so faithfully from this point foward. For my children, for my husband, for my family and friends.

My husband made the comment about how this could get legalistic, and boy could it, but I say, hey a happy reminder that I need to take time out of my busy day whenever I see one of my reminders to pray for my family... Praise the Lord for a reminder!

I can't wait to see what God is going to do through this renewed spirit within me to pray for His will in our lives!

Laundry...

Oh how I loathe laundry- I don't mind washing and drying it... it's the folding and putting away LOL
Anyhow, so the past two or three days that's what I've been doing, just tons and tons of laundry- folding, sorting, putting away, packing up what doesn't fit etc. And everytime I feel like I'm getting somewhere, another load finishes haha and if that isn't the case, Kyley has changed clothes 4 times that day and made a whole other load, or Elijah pooped all over himself or ... you get the picture! Anyhow- I say all that to say... I hate laundry- but thank God for giving it to us so we'd have things to wear!

Happy 7 months to my little man!

This week Elijah is 7 months old!  I'm so amazed at how quickly this time is flying by! He's eating big boy food- not a lot but he loves it when he does eat! He can sit up all by himself- he can say and wave bye bye... I'm so amazed at how smart he is! He is trying to learn to crawl now, he can hold himself up on all 4's but isn't good at going anywhere.  What a big boy he's becoming!!! Anyhow, here are a few pics I took recently to celebrate this milestone :)
