Old Navy Shorts (Review!)

*In the interest of full disclosure, I was given free coupons for myself and a friend to pick out a pair of shorts of choice from Old Navy via Crowdtap. I was also compensated upon completing my report on Crowdtap via points. I ended up going shopping this past weekend while my hubby was seeing the Avengers.  And yes, I spent the whole 2 1/2 hours in the Old Navy Store. I also took all 3 kids.  Brave. Yes.  Smart. No. LOL

When we first got there, I browsed the shorts, but also knew there were a few other things I wanted to look at, so I took my time browsing the store while I waited on Abigail to join us.

I tried on several pairs of shorts.

And these are the one's I bought.

Abigail finally made it in the rain, and Kyley helped her shop.

Overall, I really love the new shorts.  I ended up buying some that were 4 1/2 inches. The 3 inch inseam was WAY too short, and while there were a few longer pairs I liked, I really wanted some denim shorts. I didn't have any that fit before this, so I wanted to get denim this trip.   I really loved the longer khaki shorts I tried on though. Maybe I'll check them out if they go on sale later in the summer.

These fit great, and I love the dark wash. They are casual, and not too short, but they could look nice with a cute top and cute sandals as well. And score for me, they don't scream MOM!

They're really soft and move easily with your body, and I like that. I'm not a big fan of stiff fabric.

Thanks to Old Navy, & Crowdtap, I now have a pair of shorts I love!

Elijah

Somebody loves tracing his name.

I really love that he's shown an interest in school work finally.   He loves that I drew his name in dots and had him trace it, so I had daddy print some off for us, that way I wouldn't have to do it by hand everytime.   He's loving it!

He starts preschool in the fall, and he's very excited. I just pray he does well and doesn't terrorize the other kids haha

I think he'll be great.

And just a bonus, here he is pretending to be a frozen monkey

14 months

I won't be doing these EVERY month anymore since he's over a year old, but I want to make sure to do one every 2 to 3 months to keep up with how much he's growing!

Asher is quite the chatter box now. He tries to carry on full conversations, though you have no idea what he's saying.

Some of his favorite words...

GO!
uh oh
lily
sissssy
buba
num num
yeah
hey
duck
quack
cat
roof roof
bunn bunn (for a car)
awww
mama
dadda
more
deeee (drink)

Oh and did I mention GO?  haha that one's hilarious!

There are more words I Think he's trying to say but we just aren't sure yet.

He RUNS everywhere. The kid never stops. He's also climbing on everything.
Last night during children's church wed. night class, I looked up and he'd used a chair to climb onto the table top to get crayons.  Silly boy!

He loves his daddy. He looks forward to daddy coming home every afternoon.

The boy also loves to be outside, any chance he can get to find an open door, he's GONE.

He also loves to video chat and talk on the phone. Most of the time these conversations are with daddy or with paw paw.  He thinks he's grown and can 'chat'.

He also loves to eat. He loves bananas still, and while he still gets a random jar of baby food bananas since I still have a few on hand, the kid goes nuts for a real banana.  I have to avoid the produce section of the store when he's with me at all costs!

He loves to sing and dance, and squeal. The squealing needs to end LOL!

Dr. Who and Spelling.

My daughter is an artist. She likes to draw things she's interested in.  She also likes math.  She does NOT like spelling and reading.   Below is her drawings and her interpretation of how to spell them.  And now we're off to learn some of the words she butchered :)

This is "Blue Box"   also known as the Tardis but she said she couldn't remember what to write so she wrote blue box.   Pretty good attempt to spell it as lately we've been working on words that say "oo" so it made sense.

This is "Old Doctor"   I am not sure on the old thing, but I get the doctor... she wrote DOC and D because it makes a "DUH" sound.  While not correct, I can see where she's coming from.

This is "canine"  not too bad of a try there.

The Doctor

Well... a Dalic, good job Ky!

This is "Doctor Son" but I'm not sure where she was going with the name... someone who watches Dr. Who may need to elaborate.

"Roary"

"River" Great try!

"Water People"   I'm not sure on the water, but, she did do a good job trying to spell "Pepils" :)

These are robots, she hasn't named them yet apparently.

"Silence"  and apparently the tally marks are things they mark themselves with so they'll remember.

"Spaceman"

"Cyberman"

Ok so I'm clueless as to what most of this is, but she sure did a great job!!

We have been so busy, so I figured I'd share the week with the photos I've taken.
